For a SUS304 stainless bar enquiry, define the required section, length and surface before discussing the application. A food-contact project also needs the material and acceptance requirements specified separately; a general product name is not an approval.
Define the bar section on the drawing
State whether the component calls for a hexagonal or another agreed section. Include the relevant across-flats or diameter convention so the selected numerical size has an unambiguous meaning.
- Name SUS304 or the exact stainless designation required.
- Specify the bar profile and how its size is measured.
- Give the required cut length for each component.
- Describe the polished surface or appearance needed.
- Identify the material documents required for the application.
Agree the supplied surface
For a polished stainless component, describe the surface requirement in the enquiry and confirm the proposed delivered condition. Do not assume that a general polished label establishes a particular roughness or hygienic performance.
Check food-contact requirements independently
If the SUS304 bar is intended for food-contact equipment, have the responsible specifier define the applicable requirements. Confirm the actual alloy, geometry and evidence for the proposed use before accepting the stock.
