7 Wire PC Steel Strand Requirements, 2–16 mm Diameter Options
Steel strand offers seven diameter selections: 2, 3, 6, 10, 12, 14 and 16 mm. The product is described for PC strand requirements, with 1x7, 1x19 and 7x7 construction references.
Confirm the selected construction and exact standard, since ASTM A416 and ASTM A475 references require reconciliation. Define the required surface rather than assuming copper coating and nylon coating are equivalent. Diameter selections do not prove strand construction, prestressing qualification, relaxation class, tensile strength or working load.
Identify whether the procurement requirement concerns individual strand supply or a finished assembly. Any intended prestressing operation needs its own verified material, anchorage and acceptance requirements for the selected strand specification.
